Adi's professional music career started in 1986 when he joined the band Hari Mata Hari as a pianist as well as a composer. From 1987 until 1991 they became one of the most popular bands in ex-Yugoslavia.

As a band member, Adi is a receiver of all notable discography recognitions including the Golden Bird, Diamond Record, Platinum records (Jugoton), etc.

In 1991 Adi left the band and produced his brother Edo Mulahalilović’s platinum album “Jedna je pjesma cijelog života” but the war in ex-Yugoslavia prevented any further promotion and tour.

During the siege of Sarajevo from 1992 to 1995, Adi together with Edo managed to work on a variety of cultural and performing arts projects, including composing the song “Ostani kraj mene” (Stay with me) which represented Bosnia & Herzegovina in the 1994 Euroson
