        5. Dr. Evermor, who made the giant scrap-metal Forevertron sculpture near Baraboo, has died

Even drivers on Highway 12 in Sauk County who are looking for Tom Every’s Forevertron sculpture can be stunned by their first glimpses of the 300-plus-ton scrap-metal behemoth that appears primed to lift off into outer space.

The many pieces that make up Every’s recycled colossus include an Apollo decontamination chamber and two Thomas Edison dynamos from the 1880s.

Every, a former salvage and demolition operator who reinvented himself as metal artist Dr.

Evermor, made the Forevertron the centerpiece of an enormous sculpture park outside Baraboo.

Every died Monday in a Sauk County nursing home at age 81, where he had lived following a series of strokes, Madison.com reported.

After retiring from the salvage business in the 1980s, Every christened himself Dr.

Evermor and began creating his metal sculptures, including a flock of metal birds.
