Akkineni Nageswara Rao, affectionately known as ANR, was a renowned Indian actor and producer, leaving an indelible mark on Telugu cinema. His extensive career spanned an impressive seventy-five years, during which he played pivotal roles in numerous landmark films, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry.

Recognized for his contributions, he garnered seven state Nandi Awards and five Filmfare Awards South.

The accolades extended to the Dada Saheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor, acknowledging his impact on the realms of Art and Cinema.

ANR’s versatility shone through his portrayal of various historical and mythological figures in biographical films. From the Tamil saint Vipra Narayana to the 12th-century Sanskrit poet Jayadeva, he demonstrated a nuanced and multifaceted acting prowess.
